Arseny Yatseniuk appealed to the citizens to issue grants: "Few believed that the government will actually help anyone who needs this assistance. But the truth is the following: 5.4 million Ukrainian families are not merely applied for grants, and receive subsidies". The head of Government noted that some families pay this year even less than last year. The Prime Minister also recalled that by decision of the Government the households that use natural gas to heat homes, may, within six months to use 1200 cubic meters of gas. "For six months you have the volume of gas at a discounted price of 3,600 hryvnia, which is half of the market value of gas that you use at discretion", – said Arseniy Yatsenyuk to the citizens. According to the Department of labour and social protection of Zhytomyr regional state administration as of 12 January 2016 239 986 families in the Zhytomyr region receive housing subsidies, which is 37.5% of the number of households in the area.
