Vinnytsia: at the beginning of January in the area, there were more than 300 thousand heads of cattle
According to preliminary data of the Main Department of statistics in the Vinnitsa region as of January 1, 2016 in all categories of farms of the region were cattle 300,7 thousand heads, including cows – 160,0 thousand heads, pigs – 371,1 thousand heads, sheep and goats – 34,2 thousand heads, poultry – almost 29 million heads. Compared to the previous year increased cattle numbers by 3.3%, pork – by 2.5%, poultry by 7.1%, but decreased the number of cows by 1.1%, sheep and goats – by 1.7%. For January-December 2015 the region's farms sold livestock and poultry for slaughter in live weight 427,6 thousand tons more than in the previous year by 16.6%, milk – 838,4 thousand tons (less than 1.6%) and eggs – 857,5 million pieces (more than 6.6%).
