Uzhgorod rescuers cleared the bridge piers from debris
January 15, Uzhgorod rescuers, at the request of the city authorities, has been working on cleaning the supports of the Pedestrian bridge from debris caused the flood wave. Within two hours, from 9:30 to 11:30, fighters of gschs fired props from trees that fell in the river Much further upstream. The works involved the representatives of the mountain rescue Department diving and rescue Department of the city of Uzhgorod. Rescuers cleared the two bridge piers, removing 2 cubic metres of wood. Mountain searchers descended on ropes from the bridge and with the chainsaw cut the logs, and divers cleared the coastal resistance from branches and tree roots. They pulled on the ropes using a car. Such work is extremely important, because garbage jams can lead to the destruction of the supports of the bridge. In addition, the clutter of debris leads to low channel capacity and, therefore, makes it possible overflow of water through the river Bank.
