Chernihiv to implement the project "Smart and safe city"
In Chernihiv city Council chaired by Deputy mayor Alexander Lomako held a meeting on the implementation of M. Chernigov innovative project "Safe city". The event was attended by the heads of departments and members of the city Council, and also representatives of law enforcement bodies of the city and region. Presentation of the innovative project "Smart and safe city" was held by the representative of the company "gate – Engineering systems" Dmitry Levin, which is engaged in the implementation of such systems. He said that the experience of implementing such systems in European and American cities showed increasing control of the order in the city, reducing the number of violations of traffic rules, improvement of public services, improve environmental control, efficient street lighting and other technologies. According to him, this practice exists in many countries over the last 10 years, the work of the system as a whole in the world spends more than 2 billion $, and in a few years this figure will increase to 14 billion. In Ukraine, the project "Safe city" in the near future to implement Zaporozhye. There the project has passed the relevant design work. However, individual innovative implementation of smart technologies already taking place in Ukrainian cities. Even small towns become "pioneers" in introducing innovative management technologies, including: video surveillance to assist law enforcement in ensuring the safety of the urban environment, traffic safety and facilitating finding stolen vehicles using the system of recognition of car numbers, "e-governance", etc. "Implementation of the project "Safe city" Chernigov already relevant," said Deputy mayor Oleksandr Lomako. – "This year we will begin to implement this project in the city." He also noted that the mayor asked the law enforcement agencies of the city and region with the proposal of installation of CCTV cameras in public areas of Chernigov, which will contribute to increase the safety of citizens and detection of offences. Furthermore, the implementation of the project "smart and safe city" provides for the embodiment of the intellectual video surveillance system that allows you to control the situation in important infrastructure and public facilities, utilities, places of a mass congestion of people, traffic interchanges, environmental management systems, the monitoring of implementation of the SDA, the search for sources of fire and smoke, monitoring of public transport, "smart lighting", covering cities area, Wi-Fi, etc. During the discussion of the draft the meeting agreed the need to generalize the concept of best European and international practices of management of spatial and municipal development of the city and gradually implement it in our city. After all, the project will improve the level of comfort and feelings of security of the citizens of the city, as well as, the level of trust in local authorities. "This direction of development of the city is modern and necessary. We will lay a certain amount in the city budget for the current year to begin the first phase of the necessary work in the near future", - stressed Oleksandr Lomako.
