In Vinnytsia oblast are presented new standards of cancer care (photo)
In the press center of the Department of information activities and communications with the public of the regional state administration held a press conference on the theme : "TomoTherapy – an advanced technique of radiotherapy". The event was attended by Director of the Ukrainian Center TomoTherapy Eduard Johan and chief physician of the Centre Sergey Odarchenko. "Ukrainian Center TomoTherapy is a project of public-private partnerships in the Oncology industry, which was first implemented in Ukraine. The centre has the capacity to detect and treat tumors of any complexity, shape and localization at different stages of development with minimal negative impact on the patient's body. This was possible due to the presence in the Center of modern diagnostic and treatment equipment, which has no analogues not only in Ukraine but also in most developed countries,- noted Sergey Odarchenko. For example, the Centre recently opened in Kirovograd, there is a real working European model of development of medicine that combines the interests of the state and the investor. The use of two linear accelerators (TomoTherapy® HD and ElektaSynergy®), as well as diagnostic equipment of the latest generation is proof of the beginning of a new era in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer in Ukraine. Here is a modern advanced technology for the treatment of children with cancer aged 8 to 14 years. The participants of the press conference also reported that in the near future the Center plans to hold a scientific conference for doctors of Vinnytsia region on the theme: “TomoTherapy – an advanced technique of radiotherapy”. The purpose of this event is to introduce oncologists Vinnytsia region with modern methods of radiation therapy.
