Chernihiv: the Defenders of the country receive social support

In Chernihiv region such status have several thousand of the defenders of the country. 291 resident of Chernihiv region from 139 families of dead servicemen is set to the status "family member of the deceased". To support soldiers who have been on the protection of the country in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, as well as members of their families aims of the state target program of social protection. Government, in particular, provision of the affected members of the antiterrorist operation of sanatorium-resort treatment and psychological rehabilitation. So, last year the 353 participants of the ATO from Chernihiv region were treated at the health centres and rehabilitation institutions. Also has a program to provide housing for families of the lost participants of anti-terrorist operation and those who became disabled. Housing has received 23 families, including 5 apartments granted to combatants who have lost the functionality of the lower limbs. Extremely important is the social and professional adaptation of participants of anti-terrorist operation after their return from the combat zone. This issue as the workers engaged in the system of social protection of the population, law enforcement agencies, employers, and community organizations. 86 soldiers have been trained for the profession "Driver motor vehicles", 8 – training on performance management. This work will continue in the future. Moreover, in the state budget for 2016 includes funds for implementation of measures for social and professional adaptation of ATO participants. In addition to the state programs of social support of participants of anti-terrorist operation and members of their families, in Chernihiv region there are regional and local programs. So, almost three thousand and seven hundred families received financial assistance in the amount of 7.6 million USD. In addition, household assistance — hay storage, repair facilities, grazing, etc — has received 683 families, help with firewood, solid fuel and liquefied gas – 960.
