Gschs of Ukraine appeals to citizens to be careful due to weather conditions!

According to forecasts Ukrgidromettsentr, January 31, on the territory of Ukraine wind gusts of 15-20 m/s, on country roads, except the majority of Western areas, sometimes sleet. Night temperature 1-3° frost up to 0-4° Celsius during the day 2-9° of heat. Unstable weather conditions – a thaw during the day and freezing at night and a significant accumulation of snow cover on the roofs of buildings actively contribute to the formation of icicles and result in a drift of snow, especially with old houses with pitched roofs, protruding architectural parts of the buildings. That is why the State service of Ukraine for emergency situations addresses to citizens with the request to adhere to the basic rules of safety while staying on the street. In particular: -walking past the house or near tall trees, you need to make sure there is no threat of falling ice build-up; -do not walk under the roofs of the buildings and under the balconies, which hung icicles; -pedestrians should not go beyond what is required of fences, and in places of their absence need to pay attention to the presence of dangerous formations of ice and snow on the roofs of houses; -if possible, you should keep a distance of 3-5 meters from houses and other structures, choosing the safest route through the city streets. Observe elementary rules of safe behavior, in particular during driving. Gschs of Ukraine recalled that, when the ice on the road surface increases braking distances, it is therefore necessary to choose a safe speed, take into account the traffic intensity, characteristics and condition of the vehicle. Drivers should pay particular attention to traffic on overpasses, bridges and overpasses since these places are more likely to ice. We ask You to take responsibility for their own lives and the lives of their loved ones and in case of danger call the emergency number "101". Press service Gschs of Ukraine
