In the Transcarpathian region Prosecutor's office initiated pre-trial investigation according to journalists about the illegal felling of forests
Mukachevo local Prosecutor's office included information in the Unified register of pre-judicial investigations, on the facts given in the Internet, illegal logging of forests on the territory of Volovets district. As noted by the head of the local Prosecutor's office of Mukachevo Oleksandr Bratyk, recently on the Internet an article was published under the title “In Transcarpathia started a war! On Vologodchine cut down the beech forest, a UNESCO world heritage site", in which naznachala that on the outskirts of settlements Volovetskogo district, namely the Pashkivtsi, Cross, Sherbowitz, Zhdenievo, Bukovec and Vasquz is illegal logging of beech forests, which in turn causes devastating harm to the ecosystem. To check all the circumstances and arguments presented in the material and for conducting necessary investigative (search) actions that will establish the persons involved in the Commission of a crime, Mukachevo local Prosecutor's office on the specified fact made the information in ERDR on preliminary legal qualification of the criminal offence provided by item 246 of the criminal code of Ukraine – illegal cutting of forests.
