Transcarpathian lawyer will be judged for receiving a bribe to influence the judge's decision
the Prosecutor of the Transcarpathian region completed the pre-trial investigation and sent to court the indictment in criminal proceedings in respect of the Transcarpathian advokatessa, which received undue benefit from the client in order to influence the judge's decision. In October of last year the man decided to make out in court inherited property and so turned to a local attorney for help. The lawyer made on his behalf a petition to the district court, stressed that a positive decision the client need to provide 2 thousand UAH which it will give to the judge before the trial. Consequently, on October 29, 2015 attorney was detained by police officers in obtaining from Transcarpathians 2 thousand UAH of illegal benefit. By their actions the lawyer has committed a deliberate crime under part 2 of Art. 369-2 of the criminal code of Ukraine, i.e. obtaining unlawful benefit for himself or a third person in order to influence the decision of the person authorized to perform state functions, or the offer and promise to produce such an effect for illegal benefits.
