Representatives of DHHS, in conjunction with the delegation of the Embassy of USA in Ukraine, discussed the implementation of the new project

2 February took place the meeting of representatives of gschs of Ukraine with the delegation of the USA Embassy in Ukraine. During the meeting the participants discussed issues of creating a new project aimed at creating maps that will contribute to improved planning and management of cities in terms of the growth of the population. In addition, the formation of such maps using scientific, geographical data, modern technologies will enable to reduce the number of emergencies in a particular region and strengthen preparedness for response in case of their occurrence. During the meeting the Director of the office of supervision in the sphere of technogenic safety and civil protection SSES Taras Polishchuk said that the Ukrainian rescuers have long been cooperating with our American colleagues, with whom last year was developed the national plan for emergency response during the winter period on the territory of Ukraine. Therefore, the Ukrainian rescuers are ready for further cooperation to improve citizen security and improving the readiness of the SSES units to respond to emergency events and situations. In turn, the geographer, U.S. Department of State Lee Schwartz noted that a Pilot project for the creation of maps with the planning and urban management in conditions of growth of the population will start from the city of Kharkov. This city was chosen due to the increase in population at the expense of internally displaced persons from the East of the country.
