Sergey Grigorenko: “I apologize to the Jewish community”
“Yesterday, February 3rd, at meeting of Executive Committee of city Council during the discussion of the problems of street trading in the city of Lutsk, and also illegal sale of alcohol I had used the phrase about the pothouse of the 19th century in Ukraine in historical value. In the sense that is used in the works of Taras Shevchenko against unscrupulous businessmen who sell alcohol, fucking drunk people. It was used in a figurative sense, without any intention to insult the representatives of the Jewish people. My statement may have been perceived as an insult to the Jewish community, which has made a great contribution to the development of the Ukrainian state, Volyn land. So I apologize if I offended anyone, or my words were perceived as incorrect. I believe that as a public servant, should refrain from such utterances and statements”, - such statement was sounded by the Deputy of the mayor Sergey Grigorenko.
