In Chernivtsi the experts will be debating in Ukraine to introduce European experience of waste treatment
Round table on "addressing household waste management in Ukraine. Regional aspect" will take place on 10 February in Chernivtsi. To expert discussion of the invited people's deputies, heads of Chernivtsi and neighboring regions, mayors of Lviv, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk,Khmelnytsky, Uzhgorod, Chernivtsi oblast cities, public experts, scientists and experts, deputies of local councils. Bills Nos. 3198-1, 3199-1, 3200-1 aimed at reforming in Ukraine in the sphere of household waste management, people's deputies Nikolay Tomenko and Alexander Dombrowski, Ivan krulko, Yuriy Chizhmar and Anna Romanova. Participants will be able to Express their vision of the role of local governments in reforming this important sector, to consider the problems in the sphere of household waste management in Chernivtsi and region, European ways of solving them, experience in this sphere from other regions. In particular, the representative of the company “OZONE INVESTMENT,” Thomas Bretschneider for the first time will present a draft degasification of landfill solid waste in Chernivtsi, which is offered to the territorial community of the city. "The problem of accumulation of garbage in landfills and illegal landfills is relevant for Chernivtsi and other regions of Ukraine. The solution will not only improve the environment, reduce the demand on limited resources, but also to stimulate the economy, European integration processes. You need to establish such mechanisms in new legislation which would promote the development of the sphere of recycling, made it interesting for investors, territorial communities. We therefore support the idea of holding such expert discussions in the regions, we invite colleagues from neighboring cities to exchange experiences and develop joint positions", – said mayor Alex Kaspruk.
