In Khmelnytsk region rescuers prevent the occurrence of fires in private residential sector

From the beginning of the year the district recorded 11 fires. The majority of fires occurred in rural areas. The most common causes of fires - careless handling of fire and violation of fire safety rules at operation of furnaces and heaters. The most effective means of preventing disasters, according to firefighters, – awareness-roses’explanatory work among the population. So, on 8 February, the workers of Shepetivka district sector of the Main Directorate DSNS Ukraine in Khmelnitsky region, together with representatives of the Department of social protection conducted a preventive RAID on the territory of gorodishchensky Starabasanska and rural councils. Employees of gschs told people about fire safety rules and encouraged to follow closely the state power grids and heaters. Special attention of citizens rescuers drew on a ban of Smoking in bed, according to statistics, most fires occur from Smoking in bed while intoxicated. Also during the event, experts of service of rescue "101" has inspected the premises and gave practical advice for eliminating existing shortcomings. Among the main violations that can lead to fire, are: the lack of sheet metal under the furnace aperture, repaired crack on the furnaces, the required distance between heating oven and household items, as well as – the use of non-certified electric heaters.
