In Ukraine is an issue of modernization of the housing stock and bring it in line with European standards, as currently more than 86 thousands of apartment blocks with district heating, built in 60-80 years of the last century. This issue has gained additional relevance in connection with the constant increase in the number of condominiums. This was announced by Deputy Minister of regional development, construction and housing and communal services of Ukraine Eduard Roundwood at a meeting with international donors, coordination and cooperation in developing strategies for the development of housing and communal services in the sphere of heating, water, drainage, energy efficiency of buildings and household waste management. "We all understand that the residents own homes, condominiums or administering such a large housing stock to align to the European norms will not be able. So now is conducted active work on creation of energy efficiency Fund. In the future we will have the energy accounting, replacement of utilities within the houses, and winterization work associated with the roof repair and the like. That is the whole maintenance kit required for thermal modernization and bringing housing up to international standards", - said the Deputy Minister. According to him, the realization of all these activities will take time and involving considerable resources.
