18 editors took part in all-Ukrainian conference the reform of public media

on February 11 at the Institute of journalism KNU. T. G. Shevchenko was held the second all-Ukrainian conference "a Road map for reforming the communal media for 2016: 15 steps to freedom and independence" with the participation of 160 editors and communal printed mass media from all over Ukraine. Among the participants of the conference – 18 of the regional municipal editors of Newspapers, Zhytomyr region. During the conference was presented article by article commentary on the law "On reforming state and communal printed mass media", discussed issues of agreement about the coverage of the authorities, the optimal forms of management of a reformed revision, measures of public authorities, the criteria of financial support for reformed publications, draft amendments of the law. Speakers of the conference – Chairman of state Committee Oleg Nalivaiko, chief consultant of the Main Department of information policy of the APA Bahtti Alexander, President of the Association of media lawyers of Ukraine and Secretary of NUJU Tatiana Kotyuzhinska – has repeatedly stressed that the privatization of communal press is badly needed. Thus it will be easier to survive the reform process, the editors who in the past years received from the government a small subsidy or none at all was received. Finally, the editors shared their experiences and initial success of reform issues and have received professional legal response to the issues that they were concerned with more than just a step-by-step process of denationalization. Third national conference "roadmap of the reform of public utilities press for 2016: 15 steps to freedom and independence" organizers planned for April-may 2016.
