In the premises of the regional state administration on February 12 held a ceremony on the occasion of the Day of honoring participants of battle actions on territory of other States and the 27-th anniversary of withdrawal of troops of the former USSR from the Republic Afghanistan. The event was attended by Deputy Chairman – Director of the Department of education and science of regional state administration Igor Ivasyuk, head of the Vinnytsia regional Council Anatoliy Oliynyk, the Deputy of the mayor Serhiy Tymoshchuk, Chairman of the Vinnytsia regional Union of veterans of war in Afghanistan Peter Killeshin, participants of combat actions on the territory of other States and members of their families, military personnel, participants of anti-terrorist operation in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. The memory of soldiers-Afghans and Ukrainians, who were killed in the fighting on the territory of other countries present in the audience observed a minute of silence. "We thank you for the military and help our military personnel who take on Your experience defending our native land fighting in the East of Ukraine" – tells Igor Ivasyuk participants of combat operations in Afghanistan. "Low bow to You from myself, from the deputies of the Vinnytsia regional Council for showing valour and courage" – said Anatoly Oliynyk in his speech. From Vinnytsia oblast in the Republic of Afghanistan he served 3193 countrymen, of whom 143 were killed, including three missing, 182 wounded, 116 – mutilation. "It would not have interpreted those events, but we, the participants of the war in Afghanistan, were and remain in the memory of the soldiers that have properly fulfilled their military duty," said Peter Killeshin. On this occasion the leadership of the city has 48 participants of battle actions on territory of other States of gratitude, honorary diplomas and cash awards. As part of the celebrations on the occasion of the Day of honoring participants of battle actions on territory of other States and the 27-th anniversary of withdrawal of troops of the former USSR from the Republic Afghanistan on February 15 of the planned procession from the Museum of Afghan soldiers to the Central Park of culture and leisure for laying flowers to the monument to soldiers who died in Afghanistan and the rally-Requiem. in Vinnytsia is home to 3,600 participants of warfare in Afghanistan. The region has a network of civil society organizations which protect the interests of the soldiers-internationalists who cares about tribute to the fallen, support the families of those whose lives were claimed by the Afghan war.
