Chernivtsi paid tribute to the pam’Yat participants of operations in Afghanistan
the Solemn meeting devoted to the Day of honoring participants of battle actions on territory of other States and the 27-th anniversary of withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan was held in Chernivtsi near the monument to the fallen in Afghanistan. As a sign to the blessed memory of our countrymen to the monument laid wreaths and flowers to the soldiers –brothers, members of the public, the authorities and relatives of the victims. Head of Chernivtsi regional state administration Oleksandr Fishchuk, the Chairman of the oblast Council Ivan Muntyan and Chernivtsi Deputy mayor George Leonti presented awards to combatants. In particular, Chernivtsi mayor awards were given to members of the Chernivtsi city organization of the Ukrainian Union of veterans of Afghanistan, Jeanne Badger, Dmitry Verega, Vitaly Malkov, Yuri Miskowski, Vladimir Semenko.
