He thanked the veterans for their honor, courage and fortitude, for their help in the education and training of fighters of the Ukrainian army that protects the integrity and independence of Ukraine. "we remember all who died in the thick of the Afghan war. According to official data, during the Afghan war killed more than 15 thousand soldiers, the war has cost Ukraine more than three thousand inhabitants, - stated Stepan Barna. Unfortunately, the enemy came to our land. Now our compatriots with guns in hands defend the independence and territorial integrity in the area of ATO. we bow our heads before the feat of our countrymen who died in Afghanistan and those who never returned from the zone ATO. Now almost seven decades...Thanks to all who honorably fulfilled their international duty, and those who defend our freedom and independence". The head of the region stressed that the authorities of the region is doing and will do everything possible and necessary to support the soldiers-"Afghans". Recall, 20 participants of battle actions on territory of other States living in the region, will receive non-earmarked financial assistance on the occasion of the Day of honoring participants of battle actions on territory of other States.
