In the Rivne region rescuers taught students procedures in the event of danger of chemical and radiation nature

February 15 rescuers of the 5th state fire and rescue parts and Dubno district sector PG DSNs Ukraine in Rivne region held for students of Higher art vocational school open lesson on civil defense. During the event, employees of gschs available told students and teaching staff about the main hazards of radiation and chemical nature of the surrounding population in daily life, as well as on the correct action in the event of a chemical or radiation hazard. In practice, the rescuers showed how to act in the event of a spill of mercury from household thermometers and fluorescent lamps. During the lesson the officers of the state Service for emergency situations demonstrated the presence of means of protection of respiratory organs and skin, which are used during operation in chemically contaminated environments, and is told by their technical characteristics. In addition, rescuers together with the children conducted experiments on determination in the air of hazardous substances and radiation. Everyone could wear "chemical" costumes and see more detail of special equipment. At the end of the lessons, the rescuers reminded the students the rules of safe behavior if suspected hazardous materials, when and where citizens are rusted ammunition, how to protect themselves and others from the tragedy and what to do when they are found and which emergency services to call in such situations.
