The Transcarpathian region Prosecutor Vladimir JANKO: "People need to see effective and well-coordinated work of law enforcement authorities"
16 February 2016 in the Prosecutor's office of Transcarpathian region under the chairmanship of the Prosecutor of the region Vladimir Janko, held a coordination meeting of heads of law enforcement bodies on the issues of combating crime, including its organized forms, and disclosure of criminal offences in terms of reforming the law enforcement system. In the meeting took part the Chairman of the Transcarpathian regional state administration Gennady Moskal and the head of the Zakarpattia regional Council Mikhail RVS. During the event, discussed the data on the crime situation in the field and analyzed the effectiveness of measures taken by police officers to ensure law and order in the region. The meeting participants highlighted the lack of coordinated activities of law enforcement agencies on overlapping of channels of penetration of weapons into the area, her search, which leads to its use during the Commission of crimes and endanger public safety, life and health’s citizens. All the law enforcement agencies did not enhance investigative activities in priority areas of fighting corruption and its organized manifestations, which include the protection of state interests from illegal encroachments in the public sector, including in the procurement of goods, works and services for public funds, in the sphere of land relations, the legalization of income obtained by criminal means in the tax area. Improper is the work of the customs authorities of Transcarpathia on revealing of the facts of the criminal offence of smuggling. Due to the lack of interaction between law enforcement and regulatory authorities, is still not achieved positive results in combating corruption in public procurement, privatization of property, the provision of administrative services for issuing permits and licenses. According to the results of the coordination meeting developed measures, which would facilitate increase of efficiency of activity of law enforcement bodies of the region in the fight against corruption, smuggling, illegal migration, detection and investigation of violations in fiscal and environmental spheres.
