YTD SSES units saved 156 people on the water bodies of Ukraine
In connection’connection with the fluctuation of temperatures (slight frosts at night and fever in the afternoon) throughout the territory of Ukraine the thickness of ice on water about’objects is minimal. For this reason the output on the ice and fishing pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to life and health’I people. Since the beginning of this year rescuers have already recorded 43 cases of death of people on reservoirs, of which 6 are children. Despite all the warnings of rescuers and tragic statistics, people continue to go out on thin ice, thereby risking their own lives. In 2016, SSES units already rescued 156 people, including 27 children. Since the beginning of the week rescuers have repeatedly provided assistance to the fishermen, actrually under the ice or was the ice in the middle of the pond. So, on February 15 in Kyiv oblast division of the state emergency service has rescued 11 fishermen who were on the ice and 3 fishermen who fell through the ice. On the same day, Luhansk rescuers assisted the fisherman who fell through the ice. February 16, Kirovograd rescuers brought ashore 5 fishermen, who were on the ice. On the same day Cherkasy rescuers helped one fisherman to get to shore. In nikolayevshchina the division of the state emergency service rescued 2 people who fell through the ice. Rescuers SSES appeal to citizens with the request not to go on thin ice, to tell the children about the danger of being on the reservoir during the increase of temperature indicators.
