Vladimir says that he could not be indifferent to the fact that to fight in the ATO area are young guys who absolutely do not have military experience. Like a real man, not saying a word to his wife, our hero decided that a person with military education must fulfill their oath and protect the Ukrainian land. The fighter was pretty surprised by the fact that he, a serving officer, took in a military Commissariat only the third time. Later determined his place of service – 90 81 battalion of the airborne brigade, in which all the soldiers were volunteers. By the way, TV channel "ICTV" about these guys was the film of the same name "Volunteers". "On June 20 my wife had a birthday, and June 22, I had to go to war," says the officer. Stationed platoon of Vladimir was the settlement of Konstantinovka, under the Donetsk airport. There he was captured. Vladimir told about it. In January of last year the situation was such that the guys who fought at the airport, it is extremely needed support. They had a lack, even water. And the command has decided that we need to break through to the terminal. Vladimir Kostov, who was then the commander of the reconnaissance platoon, said his soldiers that are breaking through only volunteers. All followed their commander, though he knew that the road to the airport is a one – way ticket. The next day after the Baptism, January 20, the soldiers went to break. They rode on APCS. In the car with Vladimir there were 9 fighters. When their convoy was broken, we five members of his crew died. Among other crews were also lost. "I heard they died, I heard on the radio and saw it with my own eyes," says the officer. Immediately after the shelling drove the armored vehicles of militants and took those who survived. "We were divided, as trophies," – says our hero. Vladimir and one of his subordinates captured soldiers of the battalion "East". And then – 77 days of terrible captivity in the Donetsk SBU cellars. "Every day there lasted as a month, a year, or a lifetime". The guys didn't know, that's not what the next day, or next minute. The officer says that the guards were afraid of cyborgs so that the POWs were at work at least three armed militants. Often in the conclusion had to meet the militants with a typical Yakut appearance that didn't understand Russian. The days of captivity were different. Went for interrogations, forced labor, or just spent the whole day sitting in the chamber. Rescued prisoners of faith and hope. Had hoped that they ever exchanged, and believed in God, because there was nobody else. "One day we were led captive of a military chaplain from Kherson (priest). After that, every morning and every evening we had prayers," says Vladimir. Once the militants said prisoners return home. After this they loaded into a car and actually drove to the airport, where they were loading the bodies of their dead brothers. And then took on the proverbial parade of prisoners. Hope guys like mixed with mud, and hopes of liberation turned into a mockery. "People wanted us to break," says Vladimir with tears in his eyes. But he knew that fighting not the people they betrayed, and for justice and for the Ukrainian land. The problem is that people in the East want to live under the Soviet Union. So is the attitude.
