March 9, the day the 202-th anniversary of the birth of the Great Kobzar, the Chairman of regional state administration Valery Cow and the Chairman of the regional Council Anatoliy Oliynyk met with public representatives of the region who have made a significant contribution to the popularization of the work of Taras Shevchenko. "When times get tough, we always turn to Shevchenko - said in his welcoming speech the Chairman of regional state administration Valery Cow. – Actually, the very big challenges facing the Ukrainian state. And, like me, in historical terms, at this time we are going through a very important period of formation. We are talking about how we, Ukrainians, will be able to unite before the threat, which is outside and inside us." Valery Cow noted that the anniversary of the birth of Taras Shevchenko is a symbolic day, which, primarily, should unite the entire Ukrainian people. The President of the regional Council Anatoliy Oliynyk, in turn, stressed that the weight of the personality of Taras Shevchenko in our history is difficult to overestimate, and the Titanic work that he left behind, is a real treasure for the Ukrainian people. To mark the occasion the leaders of Vinnytsia region was presented to the meeting participants Honorary diplomas of the regional state administration and regional Council, cash prizes and sets of books dedicated to the works of Taras Shevchenko.
