In Zhytomyr region the SBU detained on a bribe of two goals of the interregional medical and social expert commissions
the Staff of management of security service of Ukraine in Zhytomyr region, together with the Prosecutor's office and the police exposed the corrupt actions of the two leaders of the interregional medical and social expert commissions. Officials systematically received bribes from persons with disabilities issuing opinions on the renewal, modification or assignment of the disability degree. The cost of these services varied depending on the solvency of citizens – an average of one to three thousand hryvnias. Intelligence officers have documented several dozen cases where extortion undue advantage. According to preliminary information, on a monthly basis they made their money by giving opinions to 40 thousand hryvnias. March 9 in an open criminal proceedings under part 3 St. 368 Criminal code of Ukraine, militiamen detained the officers after receiving bribes.
