Rivne region: rescuers warn citizens not to burn dry grass and crop residues

the first relatively warm days of spring have awakened the people to gizduvan the gardens, the yard’s adjacent territories, among which why-that first of all, the burning of dry grass, which is quite often, unfortunately, turns into uncontrolled burning and often threatened the destruction of buildings and structures the residential sector, is harmful to the environment and health’s people. But is pam’to remember that to localize the fire and to extinguish the fire of a dry grass in open areas is not easy, because the flame propagation speed is high. When this happens near the settlements, there is a high probability flip flames’I on residential and commercial buildings. Visits to extinguish fires of dry grass, leaves residues causes considerable material losses. Suffer from such cases, and the environment. Another very dangerous factor is burning dry grass – acrid black smoke. For people who are prone to allergies, be in the zone of combustion of dead trees is very dangerous. And the most terrible burning grass in the area where the soil and plants heavy metals are deposited. Inhaling the smoke, people are poisoning your body. In addition, not simply burn the grass in the cities, but the garbage, including a lot of plastic. In rural fields can fade residues of pesticides, which are used for treatment of soils or plants. Hazardous products of combustion wind can be transported over long distances, therefore, can be affected not only directly arsonists. 2015 in Rivne region occurred more than 200 fires concerning burning of dry grass on a total area of over 200 hectares. Participation in the liquidation of these fires took 150 people of staff and lifeguards were involved in 36 units of fire and rescue equipment of the state Service for emergency situations. Through the uncontrolled burning of deadwood in 2015, a fire destroyed 6 houses of the peasants, and worst of all – has claimed the lives of 2 people, 4 people suffered serious injuries. It is worth emphasizing that such fires – this and the increased risk of ignition of peat bogs. These fires cover large areas and are difficult to extinguish, because peat can burn in all directions, regardless of the strength of the wind. Only one tenth of fires in peatlands is due to spontaneous combustion. Basically I blame the people who set fire to dry grass. According to article 77-1 of the Code of Ukraine on administrative offences, persons who burn stubble, meadows, pastures and other natural vegetation or its residues and fallen leaves on the agricultural lands in the right of way of roads and Railways, parks, other green spaces and lawns in the settlements without the permission of bodies of state control in the field of environmental protection or in violation of the conditions of such permit or the failure of the person who obtained the permit for burning of specified vegetation or its residues and fallen leaves on the agricultural land, measures for their timely suppression — entail administrative responsibility. Therefore, employees of Public service on emergency situations in the Rovno area appeals to all citizens of the Region with a request not to burn dry grass and not to provoke fires that cause a lot of damage to farm land. Indeed, such actions are a threat to the environment and pose danger to people's lives. PG DSNS Ukraine in Rivne region
