March 9, Chernihiv region held a rally in support of imprisoned Ukrainian pilots Hope Savchenko. On the red square of the city about a hundred activists unfurled banners reading "Freedom to Nadezhda Savchenko!", "Russia – stop the shameful court", "No spring without Hope". The gathered held the state flags and flyers with the photo of Hope. In the action took part the Chairman of the Chernihiv city Vladislav Atroshenko, the Deputy mayor Oleksandr Lomako, heads of structural subdivisions of city Council and other representatives of local governments and public authorities. "As the head of the city, I am pleased that the Chernihiv actively joined the campaign for the liberation of Hope Savchenko, which is held not only in Ukrainian cities, but also in many countries of the world. I hope that this additional public pressure will facilitate the immediate release of the Ukrainian pilots", - said Vladislav Atroshenko and thanked the organizers for the indifferent stance in the Ukrainian prisoner. The protesters urged the international community to be actively involved in the liberation of Hope Savchenko. After the speeches everyone sang the Anthem of Ukraine. As you know, on March 4, the Ukrainian woman has gone on hunger strike in protest against the delay in the sentence. At the hearing on March 9 sentencing Nadezhda Savchenko was again postponed to March 21.
