In Vinnytsia will fight non-communicable diseases (photo)

In the Vinnitsa region launched the Project "non-Communicable diseases (NCDS): prevention and promotion of health in Ukraine", aimed at combating non-communicable diseases. Because they lead to high mortality among the population of Ukraine. The project was launched in collaboration with the Ministry of health of Ukraine, who country Office and the Swiss cooperation office in Ukraine. In the framework of the Project representatives of the who country Office in Ukraine, Ministry of health and Ministry of education and science of Ukraine carried out a working visit to Vinnytsia region is one of the pilot areas. At the round table was attended by: the representative of the who country office in Ukraine Nataliya King, Igor Ivasyuk, Deputy Chairman of the Regional Council, the Director of the health Department of the Vinnytsia regional state administration Ludmila grabovich, Natalia Piven – head of Department of legislative initiatives of the Department of public health the Ministry of health of Ukraine, regional specialists, representatives of the media. According to Natalia King – the purpose of the visit was to discuss practical steps for the implementation of the Project in Vinnytsia region, determine the plan of action in the health system, education, public mobilization, and information support. -The aim of the Project is the formation of cross-government information policy on the prevention of non-communicable diseases, the implementation aspects of a healthy lifestyle and to combat behavioral risk factors: Smoking, alcohol abuse, unhealthy diet, low physical activity, - said Natalia Piven. During communication the participants of the meeting discussed important aspects of combating and prevention of cardiovascular, cancer, chronic respiratory diseases, diabetes. These diseases, according to Igor Ivasyuk, cause the greatest number of deaths among various age groups of the population. The project focuses on the formation of information policy and public support for the prevention of NCDS, healthy lifestyles, the fight against the main risks of development of diseases. A significant role in combating NCDS, according to the participants, must play medical workers of primary link teachers. A large role will be assigned to health centers that are centers and base for training resources for the strengthening and preservation of health. According to the coordinator of the Project in Vinnytsia oblast, chief doctor of the Vinnytsia regional health Center – Tamara Vasilchuk, the project will cover such areas as: the prevention of NCDS by reducing the level of Smoking, alcohol abuse, powerful information about healthy eating, teach people good habits and increase physical activity, increase awareness of personal responsibility for their own health. To the list of areas should be added the development of a strong educational component through a system of educational institutions, as well as involvement in Project implementation of all state institutions whose activities may affect public health. Participants had the opportunity to see a large number of presentations, to discuss important steps for implementation of the Project in our region, and to participate in discussions about basic aspects of the functioning of measures to counter NCDS. According to Lyudmila grabovich, head DOSES, so the Project is really earned and gave qualitative results need a lot of time. - Measures designed to combat non-communicable diseases be effective you need to work hard on it for a year or two. International experience shows that it is a long and complex process. But without a first step and will not be further development. Therefore, the first step should be to organize an integrated information system on disease prevention and aspects of a healthy lifestyle, - said Lyudmila grabovich.
