According to the Ministry of defense of Ukraine from the beginning of 2016 the number of those wishing to enter military service under the contract amounted to more than 12 thousand people. Of these, more than 9 300 people signed a contract. It should be noted that in the Armed Forces of Ukraine changed approaches to the selection and recruitment for military service under the contract. Now all the candidates are sent to training centers of the Armed Forces, where the qualification commissions determine the level of recruit training and further the education period. Thus, if a contractor does not require training, within one to two weeks with them conducting classes for recovery skills, after which the contractor receives the distribution in military units. Other contractors are learning in the training programme for a period of one to two months.
