world wide Fund for nature (WWF), Ministry of ecology and natural resources of Ukraine and the Department of ecology and natural resources of Vinnytsia regional state administration address to all not indifferent to support the holding in Ukraine of 19 March 2016 the global campaign Earth Hour 2016. Saturday, 19 March at 20:30 people around the world will turn off their lights for one hour, Earth Hour, to show the necessity of United actions for the conservation of our Planet. In addition to the symbolic light off for 60 minutes, the current campaign emphasizes the need for daily actions of every citizen, company and government in the field of energy efficiency, environmental conservation, economical use of natural resources in order to overcome the problems of climate change and achieve harmony with nature. This is a wonderful opportunity for every citizen of Ukraine to contribute to the improvement of the overall environmental situation. Background: Earth hour was started in 2007 by the world wildlife Foundation (WWF) in Australia in order to attract attention to the problem of climate change. In 2008, this successful campaign has spread the world, it was attended by over 50 million people in 35 countries. Ukraine joined the world campaign in 2009. Earth hour 2015 was an unprecedented success – joined more than 7,000 cities in 172 countries around the world. Among those who supported the event were the mayors of Paris, Hong Kong, Rio de Janeiro, well-known politicians, cultural figures and many others. In Ukraine have joined the campaign more than 50 cities and towns, including Kiev, Odessa, Lviv, Kharkiv, Poltava and others.
