During a Government meeting on 23 March 2016, Minister of education and science of Ukraine Sergey Kvit told about the modernization of professional education in the regions as part of decentralization of powers of government. "The Ministry recommends that the heads of regional and Kyiv city state administrations to establish an intersectoral Council for vocational education, or the security Council, to discuss the regional order for the training plan for the modernization of the network of vocational training institutions to meet the need for their enlargement in the course of 2016-2018", said Serhiy Kvit . The Minister explained that in areas of better understanding of what industry is in the area and prospects of its development, which frames and professions needed in the field. Serhiy Kvit stressed that the modernization of vocational education will reduce the number of legal entities, but the number of students in VET in the future should only increase.
