27 March Chernigov regional academic music and drama theatre. Taras Shevchenko was celebrating its 90th anniversary. To congratulate theatrical team of Chernihiv from this momentous event came the leaders of the city and region, workers of culture, fans of the theatre. In a congratulatory letter, Vice-Premier of Ukraine, Minister of culture of Ukraine Vyacheslav Kyrylenko stated that the anniversary of the Chernihiv theatre is an event for the entire Ukrainian scene. Chernihiv theatre – the oldest in the country and for 90 years, gives the audience the best performances based on the works of Ukrainian and world classics, and rightfully earned the love of not only the domestic fans but also international audiences. "I Express to the whole theatre team our heartfelt gratitude for your dedication to the theater and wish you new creative achievements, happiness, peace and prosperity" - said in greeting. Chernihiv city Chairman Vladislav Atroshenko, on behalf of the whole community of the city expressed warm thanks to theatre staff for the development of Ukrainian national theatrical art and spiritual culture of society. "in the theater sounds a Ukrainian word clearly reveals domestic drama, this is one of the powerful factors of national revival towards the consolidation and unity of the nation, all Ukrainian people", - said the mayor. Vladislav Atroshenko also stressed that "the municipal government within the capacity of the city budget and in cooperation with the regional authorities will make efforts to Chernihiv theatre has always had a perspective for tomorrow." General Director Sergey Moisienko, who manages the theater for the past 10 months, is proud of the achievements of the theatre.
