Zhytomyr region: in the field of development of production of livestock products
of 5 April, he held a telephone conference under the chairmanship of the first Deputy Minister of agrarian policy and food of Ukraine Yaroslav Krasnopolsky. Representatives of the agricultural sector summed up the results of work in cattle breeding for 2015 and outlined the main objectives for 2016. The meeting was attended by the head of Department of agroindustrial development of regional state administration Ruslan kyryliuk, industry representatives from the areas. Ruslan Kirilyuk reported that in animal husbandry the Zhytomyr region, as last year, and 3 months of current year retained the tendency of constant increasing of production of major livestock products in all categories of farms. Index of gross output of animal husbandry in January-February 2016 amounted to the level of last year – 101,9%, which corresponds to 4 in the rating of regions of the state. Last year all categories of farms made 82,3 thousand tons of meat, which is 3.4 thousand tons (4,3%) more 587,3 thousand tons of milk, which is almost at the level 589,6 million eggs. Production volumes of milk (587 thousand tonnes) region occupies the 3rd place among the regions of Ukraine, held a superiority in milk production per 1 person (400 kg), the rate of sales growth to the slaughter of livestock and poultry in live weight (104,3%) – 2nd place in the state. The production index of livestock products in 2015 amounted to 103.5% compared to 2014. Last year in all categories of farms reduced the number of cattle 5.9 thousand (3,2%), the number of cows 7.5 thousand heads (6.3 percent). However, this year the number of cattle in this category of farms has grown by 6.7 thousand (5.6 percent), cows – 300 head (0.3 per cent).
