The ceremonial signing of Protocol of intentions is an important factor of Ukrainian-German cooperation in the field of enhancing the role of local government
4 April at the premises of Ivano-Frankivsk regional state administration signed a Protocol of intentions on cooperation in the framework of the project of Hanns Seidel Foundation in Ukraine «the Promotion of public administration and local self-government". Significant place in the implementation of this Protocol is given to establishment and development of voluntary fire brigades (teams) in the community of Ivano-Frankivsk region. The signing ceremony was attended by members of the German delegation - Dr. j?rgen WAlachover and Walter Schwab - led by the project Manager of Hanns Seidel Foundation in Ukraine, Moldova and Romania Daniel Seiberling, head of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional Council Alexander Sych, Vice-Chairman of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional state administration Yaroslav Paranuk, the head of Department DSNS in the field of the Colonel of service of civil protection Vladimir Chernetsky, Director of the regional center of retraining and improvement of professional skill of workers of bodies of state power, bodies of local self-government, state enterprises, institutions and organizations Bogdan Voloshin. In his opening remarks, the Chairman of regional Council Alexander Sych, after welcoming the members of the delegation in the hospitable land of Prykarpattya, stressed that the assistance of the German partners is very important and necessary in the present circumstances when the country has embarked on decentralization, and therefore enhancing the role of local governments and communities is an important factor of European integration. In turn, Deputy Chairman of regional state administration Yaroslav Paranuk noted that the implementation of this Protocol will contribute to the sustainable development of human settlements, the Carpathians, and enhance their fire safety, because in the framework of the existing regional program of projects and programs of development of local self-government, the projects of creation of voluntary fire brigades are given priority. On the German side the project Manager of Hanns Seidel Foundation in Ukraine, Moldova and Romania Daniel Seiberling stressed that this project is pilot for Ukraine and extremely important in self-government as a factor of formation of civil society.
