Chernihiv: April 11 — international day of liberation of Nazi camps

All mankind celebrates the international day of liberation of prisoners of Nazi concentration camps. 71 years ago, in March 1945 there was an uprising of prisoners in the Nazi concentration camp of Buchenwald. Preceded the revolt the escape of the German command and of the guards, who, despite attempting to escape, were captured by American troops. It was at this point the prisoners of the largest concentration camp that was Buchenwald, decided on an armed uprising and took the situation under control. 11 April 1945 in the territory of Buchenwald included American troops. Later the United Nations declared this day International day of liberation of Nazi camps. Only during the Second world war on the territory of Nazi Germany and the occupied States operated fourteen thousand factories of death. Eighteen million people of different nationalities went through the hell of Treblinka, Majdanek, Auschwitz and other camps. Innocently killed eleven million men, women and children. Prisoners of the camps were hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians. International day of liberation of Nazi camps is a day when we honor the feat of the anti-fascist resistance fighters expressed respect for the older generation, who endured incredible pain and suffering. And when Ukraine has to protect its borders from the Russian aggressor, who, how and when Nazi Germany, brings death and suffering to our land, should unite around the history of the struggle of the Ukrainian people for their freedom during the Second world war.
