Chernihiv is preparing for the 30th anniversary of the accident at ChNPP
12 April in Chernihiv city Council meeting of organizing Committee on preparation and holding of events for the 30th anniversary of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant that was held by the Deputy mayor Olga Honch. The meeting was attended by heads of Desnyanskiy district and new factory in the city of Chernihiv councils, heads of structural subdivisions of city Council, representatives of law enforcement bodies of the city and Chernobyl public organizations. Addressing the participants of the event, A. Hanc noted that this day – day of remembrance of the man-made disaster in the history of mankind, so all those involved in organizing and conducting events, have great responsibility to this task. The head of Department of culture of the city Council Yuri Tkach presented a tentative plan and a scenario of events that will take place in Chernigov. He reported that on April 14, at 12 o'clock on the green area near the Palace of solemn events will be planting cheremhovo memory Alley in honor of the 30th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster and all participants and liquidators of the Chernobyl accident. The main event will be held on April 26 at the memorial sign "Heroes of Chernobyl". In the meeting-Requiem and laying flowers will be attended by leaders of the city and the region, as well as representatives of public organizations. These activities will involve religious organizations in the city. The Department of housing and communal services of the city Council is required to landscape the area around the memorial sign "Heroes of Chernobyl". The city also will host meetings, meeting with citizens who suffered as a result of the Chernobyl disaster, a survey of living conditions of the disabled-liquidators, medical inspections and prophylactic medical examination of the liquidators.
