Ternopil region: the rescuers are taking measures to Easter holidays passed without accidents
Soon, on 1 may, the Christians of the Eastern rite will celebrate one of the most revered Church holidays – Easter. On the eve of the employees of the State service of Ukraine on emergency situations in the Ternopil region carry out inspection of the fire condition of religious buildings area. Special attention is paid to the presence of primary fire extinguishing means, the status of emergency exits, faulty electrical system, and the like. During the pre-inspection rescuers carry out the instructions of the clergymen of the fire condition of the temples, and the parishioners – talks on safety in the home. Information on inspection results provided to the local bodies of Executive power, bodies of local self-government and heads of religious denominations to take appropriate measures to improve fire condition. After all religious buildings have their own specific features of the fire hazard inherent in basically only them. Often they use open flame: candles, lamps, and also there are underground facilities with complex layout, without ventilation. In addition, ancient buildings mostly constructed using the trees ' wood. Fires that may occur in such buildings, as a rule, are resonant in nature, as applied not only material, but moral and big losses to the state and society. In Ukraine, according to statistics, every year there are approximately 30 fires in places of worship. In percentage terms this is less than 1% of the total number of fires that occur in our state throughout the year. But even with such supposedly small number of fires, material, spiritual, and historical and cultural losses are pretty substantial. In the Ternopil region in the last year in cult buildings were 3 fires. In particular, 12 April 2015 a fire destroyed the building of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyiv Patriarchate "assumption" in sec. Snigirevka of Lanovetsky district, in 2016, 8 February, a fire damaged the building of the local Church of Evangelical Christians in the village of Gromilov Husyatyn district, and on April 8 the damage of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church "assumption" of the Kyiv Patriarchate in sec. Sokolov buchatsk district. To avoid such unfortunate events in the Easter holidays rescuers remind about observance of fire safety rules: "Citizens, during the preparation of the Passover and a variety of festive dishes, you should be careful with gas and electric appliances, so as not to cause a fire in the kitchen. During worship in the Church should keep a safe distance from the other parishioners, carefully head’to tie hair with a scarf and to put a candle a piece of paper or a handkerchief to protect yourself from the hot wax. Holding the candle in your hands, you must ensure that the fire’I didn't get on your own or other people's things that can instantly break out. In the Easter basket candle should be placed so that the flame’, I would not touch polyethylene or woven baskets. In any case, you should not let young children out in the open, because they can hurt themselves and cause a fire. After returning home from Church candle should be placed in a fireproof candle holder away from flammable objects. The clergy, the Church elders and other responsible persons after the Worship must completely disconnect the building and to not leave the Church unattended lighted candles and open flames. You need to follow the rules of fire safety when using electrical appliances, to monitor the serviceability of power grids and to renounce the use of nonstandard heating devices for space heating and to avoid the open laying of the electrical cables on combustible structures. You should also be extremely careful with electric lights, which decorate the interior structural elements of churches, iconostases and individual images.
