Flower-laying observed in Vinnytsia events of Ukrainian-Polish relations almost a century ago (+photo)

The inscription on the monument begins with the words that without an independent Ukraine there is no independent Poland. It is further said, "In the hall of this house 17 may 1920, made a speech the head of the Revived Polish state Jozef Pilsudski, who arrived at the invitation of the government of the Ukrainian national Republic. Deputy Chairman-Director of the Department of education and science of regional state administration Igor Ivasyuk also put yellow and blue bouquet to the relief of Dmitry Markovich - famous Ukrainian politician and public figure, writer, founder of "Enlightenment" in Vinnitsa. "Memorials in Vinnytsia is a symbol of Polish-Ukrainian friendship,- said Igor Ivasyuk, we celebrated the events of almost a century ago that took place in Vinnytsia. Together with the Consul General of Poland in Vinnytsia we have implemented this action respect for our common historical past. Time has proved our good-neighbourly relations: the Ukrainian and Polish peoples always close and give each other support and help in difficult times."
