Chernihiv is preparing for the celebration of the Day of remembrance and reconciliation and victory Day
In Chernihiv city Council on 20 April took place the meeting of organizing Committee on preparation and celebration of Days of remembrance and reconciliation, victory Day over Nazism in the Second world war. The meeting was chaired by Deputy mayor Olga Honch. The event was also attended by representatives of the Department of information activities and communications with the public, the Department of education and science of the regional state administration, employees of structural subdivisions of city Council and district councils of Chernihiv, as well as representatives of law enforcement agencies. On the preparations for the celebrations are reported to the head of Department of culture and tourism of the city Council Yuri Tkach. He said that the main event will be held on 8 and 9 may. Among them: a rally and laying flowers on the graves of fallen soldiers in the square to them. M. M. Popudrenko and the tomb of the Unknown soldier at the Memorial of Glory in Chernigov. A more detailed action plan will be published on the official website of the Chernihiv city Council later. The Chairman of the Chernihiv city Council of veterans Irina Quarter turned with words of gratitude to all responsible persons, providing preparation for the holiday. She also said that in Chernigov currently reside 407 war veterans, 5 veterans – those who participated in the liberation of the city of Chernihiv. The meeting stressed that no veteran will be left without attention, all the veterans will visit the representatives of municipal and district councils, students and schoolchildren. All relevant services which take part in organization of this holiday, is mandated to take responsibility for the task, so the holiday was at a high level.
