On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant mayor Alex Kaspruk met in the town Hall with members of the public organization "Chernivtsi regional Association "Chernobyl veterans of Bukovina". "Already a whole generation that did not catch this terrible tragedy, but these days we traditionally remember about Chernobyl, – said Alexei Kaspruk. – The accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant became the largest technogenic catastrophe in the history of mankind. It is no exaggeration to call the liquidators of consequences of the accident the real heroes of our time. I think everyone here would agree with me. The feat of these brave men and women will live forever among the people." For active participation in public life of Chernivtsi in connection with the anniversary of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant the mayor was present awarded Honorary diplomas of the Executive Committee, gifts and medals "30 years of Heroic deeds".
