Zhytomyr: rescuers and foresters region have fulfilled actions on liquidation of emergency situations caused by forest fire
28 April on the basis of state-owned enterprises “Korostenske lesookhotnichye economy” was held on the comprehensive special tactical exercises on liquidation of emergency situations caused by forest fires. The event was held under the leadership of the Chairman of regional state administration Sergey moshkovskii. The main purpose was to develop joint actions of rescuers and foresters in the event of a major forest fire. To participate in the exercises also participated the leaders of lesoohotnich farms in the region. According to legend teachings on the territory of Korosten Ushomirski forestry's forest and hunting farm there was an ignition of a dry grass. Due to gusty wind the fire quickly gained a large size. In the first phase of the exercise fulfilled the basic techniques of fire detection, firefighting forces and means of forest fire stations using knapsack sprayers, knocking down the flames’I on the edge of the fire, backfill soil, laying fire lines. However, the operational situation is complicated – the fire got a scale emergencies. It was therefore decided to draw on suppression of additional forces and resources from neighboring forests and units of the state service for emergency situations – Korosten combined unit. In particular, for localization of upland forest fire rescuers set fire pumping station to the reservoir and submitted for extinguishing fire monitors. At the end of the event the staff of the rescue Service held a briefing with the media with the participation of the head of the region Sergey moshkovskii, Deputy head of the Department DSNS of Zhytomyr region Oleg Derango and the chief of regional management of forest and hunting economy Andrew Kurinskogo. - A fire in ecosystems today is a topical issue, both in our region and throughout the country. Over the past year was registered in the Zhytomyr region 1046 of such fires – 5 times more than in 2014. Already this year there were 57 fires. I note that the Zhytomyr region – the largest area of forests in Ukraine. ITS territory – about 1 million. hectares of forest plantations, accounting for 33% of the territory.
