Chernivtsi will receive from the EBRD a credit for updating of trolleybus Park

the European Bank for reconstruction and development will give Ukraine a loan for an investment project to improve the infrastructure of public transport through the procurement of 40 units of new trolley buses, associated equipment and modernization of traction substations and contact network. The corresponding agreement of intentions on preparation of credit financing the project was signed on 5 may, mayor Alex Kaspruk, the Director of enterprise "Chernivtsi trolleybus management" John Ivanichek and senior banker, EBRD Denys hajovyy. Therefore, EBRD declared its readiness to provide enterprise "Chernivtsi trolleybus administration" credit for updating of trolleybus Park and the modernization of the trolleybus contact network. As told by Denys hajovyy, preparation for loan financing, during which will be determined by the exact amount of the loan, its conditions, will last for several months. "We expect the amount to 10 million euros. Pre-planned that the loan will be repayable in 13 years with a possible three-year grace period, but this should be confirmed by resolution of the Board of Directors of the Bank and the decision of the Chernivtsi city Council," said Denys hajovyy. The interest rate and the terms of such adjustments will depend on the credit rating of the city of Chernivtsi, the Bank estimates the total risk of the project, the then market conditions and will be determined after inspection of trolleybus management and the city. However, taken into account that the maximum margin under the credit agreement on investment for this project may not exceed 7.0% per annum over six-month EURIBOR rate. In addition, EBRD, and KP Chernivtsi "Chernivtsi trolleybus management" plan to apply for grant co-financing in the amount of 1.5 million Euro to Eastern partnership on energy efficiency and the environment. The signing of the agreement of intent on the preparation of loan financing reflects the expectations and the current intent of the parties to the agreement on the participation in the project for the improvement of public transport infrastructure in Chernivtsi and do not impose any legal obligations to make or receive funding. "This project is very important for Chernivtsi and allows the city to quickly begin updating of trolleybus Park. Chernivtsi believe his strategic goal is the development of ecological electric vehicle, so I have no doubt that the project will be supported by the deputies and the public of the city.
