Chernigov: events for the Day of memory and reconciliation and the victory Day over Nazism in the Second world war
In the Chernigov city Council on may 4, a meeting of the organizers of the festive commemorative events and the local media. As noted by the head of culture and tourism of the city Council Yuri Tkach, a new concept of celebration of Day of memory and reconciliation and the victory Day over Nazism in the Second world war – a partnership of caring Chernigov, historians and local authorities. Major city-wide event will begin on 9 may at 10.00 am. Heads of region and city, representatives of enterprises, institutions and organizations, public city will take part in a rally-Requiem and laying flowers at the Memorial to the victims of fascism, to the graves of soldiers in the square named after N. M. Popudrenko, memorial steles of Chernigov military personnel who died in the ATO zone and the tomb of the Unknown soldier at the Memorial of Glory, honouring the memory of the victims of the Second world war and died for the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine. In addition, on this day, representatives of labor collectives and educational institutions of new York and Desnyanskiy district of the city of Chernihiv will lay flowers to 16 mass graves and burial sites of fallen soldiers on the territory of the regional center. In the Alley of Heroes 8th and 9th of may from 18.00 to begin on the memorial event. Within the hour string Quartet will play for Chernigov classical music.
