may 11 in Chernihiv city Council held a round table in which took part the Deputy of the mayor Alexander Lomako, members of the city Council, representatives of public organizations of disabled people, Chernobyl veterans, soldiers of the ATO, orphans and others. The topic of discussion was the financial support of public organizations of the city of Chernihiv at the expense of the city budget in the II half of 2016. The round table participants discussed the principles and the mechanism for providing this financial assistance. Oleksandr Lomako noted that the financial support from the city budget claim 24 public organizations, 2 of which have applied for the first time. The Deputy mayor reminded the audience that to decide who, exactly, the city will financially support, should members of the city Council at the next session. It will be held in late may. Therefore, Oleksandr Lomako invited civil society organizations to acquaint the deputies with his activities closer. To do this, they should organize among themselves and to develop a schedule on which city deputies unable to visit them, meet with activists, to talk, to see and make up their own opinion about the work. Also Oleksandr Lomako invited civil society organisations who apply for financial assistance from the city budget, as soon as possible to provide comprehensive information about themselves for publication on the website of the city Council. However, the Deputy of the mayor emphasized that from the local budget for this program will be funded only rent of premises, land and utilities. Fund financing in the first half of 2016 amounted to 813 thousand UAH. For the second half planned a few a smaller amount, due to the fact that the two organizations (volunteer and rehabilitation centre), was already separate decisions of the city Council of settlement until the end of the year. Also Oleksandr Lomako explained to those present that at the seventh session of the Chernihiv city Council of the seventh convocation adopted the "Program of development of civil society in the city of Chernihiv for 2016-2020". It also begins to work from the second half of this year. In the framework of this programme provides for funding of public organizations of the city budget on a competitive basis.Expected results of the Programme: the formation of self-sufficient and economically independent institutions of civil society; involvement of citizens in solving problems of territorial communities and their practical solution; increasing the level of trust of local government and civil society. Present at the meeting, the representatives of NGOs made their suggestions for changes in Programme funding of organizations that deal with veterans, children-invalids, large families provide social support to soldiers of the ATO. Speakers invited to the Executive bodies of city Council jointly carry out social activities, and the members of the city Council - to take any public organization under its patronage.
