12 may in Chernigov in Chernihiv city Council opened the XII international scientific-practical conference "Modern problems of environmental psychology: Environmental-psychological effects of crises and disasters" 30 years after Chernobyl). To participate in the conference invited leading scientists, scientists of the countries of near and far abroad, University professors and students. The main question and the purpose of the event: How environmental psychology can improve the state of the environment, in particular, the ecological status of Chernigov? On behalf of Chernihiv mayor Vladislav Atroshenko the conference participants were welcomed by the Deputy mayor Oleksandr Lomako. He stressed that Chernigov, one of the oldest cities of Europe, which preserved the unique historical and architectural masterpieces of world importance, always cordially welcomes its guests and invited them to visit our city again as a tourist destination. Oleksandr Lomako stressed the urgency of carrying out the international scientific-practical conference on the Chernobyl disaster and its consequences and the importance of disseminating scientific knowledge about the long-term consequences ecotechnodon disaster, as well as, identify areas for further scientific research on this topic. He recalled that a similar conference was held in Chernihiv 10 years ago, and its developments were important for the development of ecological psychology, which is one of the priority branches of science in solving ecological problems and regional environmental problems. In speeches it was noted that the Chernobyl disaster has a beginning but will never have the end, because of its consequences for a long time, in different variations, will affect the environment and humanity. It is also noted that Ukraine became a kind of laboratory for the study of consequences of natural disasters. The speakers stressed the important contribution to the study of this topic of the doctor of psychological Sciences, Professor Vasily Skrabets, which is one of the founders of national environmental psychology. XII international scientific-practical conference, which he long had planned, dedicated to his memory . A minute of silence the participants of the conference honored the memory of the outstanding scientist-carnegies Skrabets. Before the plenary meetings of the conference, Oleksandr Lomako presented awards to participants of competition of children's creativity "Environmental vision for the future", which took place yesterday in two areas: for children 7-11 years old – a drawing competition on the theme "Save the nature Chernigov" for students 14-18 years – essay contest on the theme "Environmental vision for the future".
