May 19 in Vinnytsia region celebrated the international Day shirts
It is traditionally celebrated Day embroidery the third Thursday of may, this year this holiday falls on may 19. Embroidery is not only a traditional part of the wardrobe of the Ukrainians but also the national symbol – a symbol of the struggle for independence, a symbol of rebelliousness, inflexibility of spirit, a symbol of hope and love. May 19, 2016 is the day that will unite all Ukrainians in the world, regardless of country, place of residence, language spoken, religion or political views. The campaign will demonstrate that embroidery – organic component of life and culture of Ukrainians. Reference: It is national, and since 2014 is an international holiday designed to preserve the embroidered shirt as material and spiritual heritage of the Ukrainian people. The occasion of the world day of embroidery originated in Chernivtsi, Ukraine, 10 years ago, the faculty of history, political science and international relations of Chernivtsi national University named after Yuriy Fedkovych. In 2011, the festival was included in the Ukrainian Book of records for number of people simultaneously dressed in shirts. In 2015, the Chernivtsi city Council adopted resolution No. 1577 dated 30 April "Day of embroidery" and determined annually on the third Thursday in may Day shirts in the city, and this idea was launched in all regions of Ukraine.
