In the first half of the day, may 19 papers and presentations were held in the premises of "HALL PODOLYANY" shopping and entertainment complex "Podolyany" in Ternopol. In his welcoming speech the Chairman of the Ternopil regional state administration Stepan Barna thanked the foreign guests for their interest in our region. Also, the head of the region noted that the presence of many representatives of Ukrainian business indicates a growing level of confidence in the government of the region. "Two major challenges facing the region: the creation of new jobs and income growth of the population, — said Stepan Barna. — And we have the capability to do so. Ternopil region is ready to become the centre of economic growth and the locomotive of reforms". According to the Chairman of RSA, three key points support the flow of investments into the region: a successful logistics exceptional leadership in the implementation of decentralization reform and highly educated professional staff. At the conclusion of this session, the participants continued to work in Zbarazh castle, where the planned official meeting between the leadership of the state and region with foreign delegations, heads of foreign diplomatic missions accredited in Ukraine. In particular, recently, the Ternopil regional administration adopted the strategy for SME development for 2016-2020, which is the first in Ukraine the regional strategy, which was developed in accordance with the principles of the Act on small businesses for Europe. The strategy has been drafted on the initiative of the Ternopil regional state administration, representatives of business associations and the public with the assistance of the USAID LEV Program. Such basic documents should form the vision for the integrated development of SMEs in the region and improving the business climate, demonstrating to potential investors the willingness of the region to cooperate.
