News of agricultural industry of Zhytomyr region
In January-April, 2016 the index of gross output Zhytomyr oblast is on the 4th place among the regions of the state. The index of agricultural production amounted to 101.4 (Ukraine 98,3%), including at agricultural enterprises – 107,4%, households – 100,2%. During the four months of this year were sold for slaughter of livestock and poultry in live weight 28.1 thousand tonnes 0.3 thousand tonnes (1.1 percent) more than last year, milk produced 168.00 thousand tons, which is almost level with last year, produced eggs 181,5 million units, a 15.2 million units (9.1 per cent) more. As 01.05.2016 year in all categories of farms kept cattle – MYR 207.2 thousand heads, including cows 110,6 thousand heads, pigs – 156,7 thousand heads, poultry – 5994,9 thousand heads. In terms of cattle population, the oblast ranks 7th in the number of cows 6 place in the state. For four months of the current year in sphere of agro industrial complex of the region created 142 new jobs, including: agricultural production in the region – 67 jobs at the enterprises of food and processing industry – 75 jobs.
