Opening the meeting, the Prosecutor of the region Dmitry Chepak stressed that the fight against corruption is one of the priorities of all state bodies, and especially – currently. In the past year, joint efforts of law enforcement efficiency in this area in Volhynia managed to intensify significantly. The results of the investigation of corruption crimes were sent to the court 50 criminal proceedings against 168 criminal offences, almost half of which are – on bribery. In the same year one-third increase in the number of identified and investigated crimes of illegal receipt of benefits, however the total number of detected corruption crimes has substantially decreased. Another problem in the sphere of counteraction of corruption in the Volyn region is the issue of indemnity for offences of corruption. Need improvement results of combating administrative corruption in the region. Summing up the meeting, the Prosecutor of the Volyn region said that the result of the joint work of law enforcement bodies in counteraction to corruption needs to be one – exposed organized crime groups with corrupt SV’duties, punished corrupt officials, especially, heads of bodies of power and administration, regulatory bodies, law enforcement authorities, as well as – state compensation for the damage caused by corruption crimes. Then all the present heads of law enforcement agencies urged to personally see the progress of the previously agreed joint measures on combating corruption in the region and to do everything possible to achieve real results.
