Yesterday, may 31, during a field enlarged meeting of the coordination Council on questions of local self-government under the Chairman of the regional Council held in the village of Tomashpol, between the Association of local authorities of Vinnytsia region and representatives of the EU/UNDP IWG "Local development oriented on community" was signed a Memorandum of understanding and cooperation. It would enhance project and grant activities in the region, as well as to obtain information, consulting and methodological assistance. The meeting was attended by RSA Chairman Valery Cow, heads of structural divisions of the regional state administration, Chairpersons of district councils and city heads of cities of regional importance, the heads of public utilities and the media. "Since 2008, the region began to work actively with the project "Local development, oriented on colossus". The first phase of the project worked as a training springboard to further work with the grant projects. Experts have taught us to raise the activity of the community, to attract investment on the basis of co-financing. The signing of the Memorandum is the next and more effective stage of cooperation: using the Vinnytsia regional Association of local governments that has experience with grants and an extensive network of offices in regions to disseminate this activity", - commented the head of Vinnytsia regional Council Anatoly Oleynik. Within realzar of the MRG Project, in the Vinnytsia region was founded on 17 resource centres for the development of communities. About a form of cooperation with local associations informed the coordinator of the joint Project EU/ UNDP IWG in Vinnytsia region Anastasia Lanina. Valery Cow, noting the necessity of activating the work of the resource centres, said: "they need to Lead creative people: young and interested, otherwise the resource centers will not be able to attract sufficient investment funds". The local authorities of the region hope for further investment in the framework of the Project EU/UNDP "Local development, oriented on colossus" while negotiations are continuing on the fourth phase of the project. Vinnytsia regional Association of local governments has more than 522 local councils of the region.
