The main areas in which small projects are supported: Health. The rule of law; justice. Local governance and decentralization. The trade promotion; development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Sustainable use of energy and water resources; ecology. Social services. Activities in the field of culture. The project, which is submitted for consideration, should involve local initiatives and take account of the needs of the community and the issues of equal participation, and explore and promote new ideas and approaches region. Candidates must be a registered Ukrainian non-governmental organizations with an appropriate organizational structure and have a verified ability in financial management. In exceptional cases can be considered proposals from commercial, governmental and international organizations. In order to be eligible for support, project proposals must meet the following conditions: The budget is usually 100 000 - 250 000 USD, the advantage is the own contribution of the applicant to the project — both in monetary and in-kind. Spending should be focused mainly on activities: purchase of equipment and study trips, scholarships and charitable activities will not be supported. The aim of the competition is to support initiatives of public organizations for the world day of palliative care in 2016, is celebrated on the second Saturday of October, aimed at improving public awareness concerning the right to receive quality palliative care for all categories of people. The participants of the competition – public organizations, charitable foundations, initiative groups, which work in the field of palliative care in Ukraine. The duration of the project should not exceed 2 months. The total budget of the competition – 510 000 UAH. The maximum grant amount is 50 000 UAH. The deadline for submission of draft – June 2, 2016. The announcement of the results to 2 July 2016. Priorities of the contest: to attract the attention of local communities to the problems of patients who have incurable diseases and need palliative care (in particular children and young people); - consolidation of efforts of the communities for the adoption of systemic solutions for ensuring critically ill patients quality care; - carrying out a broad information campaign in celebration of the world day of palliative care (http://www/worldday.org); - attracting additional funding to support agencies and organizations providing palliative care to a particular community. Possible initiatives within the framework of small grant: • holding of charity events, concerts, street actions, artistic events, competitions or for fundraising in support of local palliative care services (provided to ensure transparency of the collection and use of charitable contributions). • engaging local and national mass media to cover issues of organization and provision of palliative care in Ukraine, in particular the provision of palliative patients of all ages adequate analgesia; • involvement of local community representatives for discussions and needs assessment in palliative care; • carrying out of actions of educational character in relation to the goals and objectives of palliative care among the local community; • provision of consultations and holding discussions with local authorities in establishing the system of palliative care in mestranol. The program will not support projects aimed at the purchase of medical equipment and medicines. Each organization can submit only one project. The program will provide all grantees with information materials on palliative care (leaflets, booklets). The winners will be invited to a meeting of the grantees in Kyiv. The program does not provide grants: profitable organizations, political parties, religious communities and the private (physical) persons. The programme "Step beyond" (StepBeyondTravelGrants) aimed at the study and exchange of views, skills and inspiration among participants.
